Big deal. Amazon has announced that Ethereum is now an option on its Amazon Managed Blockchain service. AWS users can now set up Ethereum nodes and join the public Ethereum main network on the platform.
The cloud leader first began providing blockchain related services back in 2019.
Customers initially gained access to blockchain networks, nodes, decentralized applications, as well as smart contracts. It is one of the many cloud providers that have unveiled their blockchain services within the recent past.
Announcing the Ethereum launch, Amazon highlighted:
“With this launch, AWS customers can easily provision Ethereum nodes in minutes and connect to the public Ethereum main network and test networks such as Rinkeby and Ropsten. With Amazon Managed Blockchain, customers get secure networking, encryption at rest and transport, secure access to the network via standard open-source Ethereum APIs, fast and reliable syncs to the Ethereum blockchain, and durable elastic storage for ledger data.”
Like most launches, this was a staged rollout.
This new service was initially only available to customers on the East Coast of the United States, but now customers can access Ethereum across AWS regions in the Easter US, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
